Ghost Trains /
All of the Songs
and Some of the Story
In its
usual incarnation
as a stage play, Mansel Robinson's ode to romance and the Canadian
railroad
is delivered by his character Dougie McCrea, the narrative punctuated
with
his blank verse and songs written with Stewart MacDougall. This
adaptation
for cabaret presents the song cycle in concert with poetic vignettes
from
the spoken text, all performed by MacDougall, supported by four
musicians
and visual images created by Tim Lee. The debut performance was
presented
by Festival Place, Sherwood Park, Alberta, November 14, 2004
